Just over a month ago, Steve Souders launched a great service called the HTTP Archive. The service collects HTTP and performance data from thousands of websites, offering great insights into the state of the web and how it changes over time.

However, the HTTP Archive is limited to desktop browsing, not capturing the mobile web – likely the most dynamic and least understood part of the web. Gaining similar visibility into what the top websites are doing for mobile could help identify problems and let website owners know where they stand. So the same day Steve launched the service, he and I started discussing a mobile version of it.

It’s been almost 3 months since we launched Mobitest, and we’ve learned a lot in that time. The service is getting used more and more, and it’s always nice to see the phones get hyper-active when we get a mention in some presentation

By now the service is more robust, and we’ve officially removed the Beta mark – coinciding with the Blaze product leaving Beta. At the same time, we gathered up some statistics to share from the tests submitted.
